DR. CR. Parthasarathy

Founder & MD, SGES

Dr CR Parthasarathy is the founder Director of Sarathy Geotech & Engineering Services Pvt ltd. He started his career as a Geotechnical Engineer in 1993. He was involved in numerous site investigation / engineering studies at various levels for multi-storeyed complexes, industrial buildings, embankments, bridges, water-retaining structures, subways, pavements, offshore platforms, pipelines, mobile drilling units etc. With a wealth of experience, he has developed extensive expertise in conducting thorough analyses of drilled shafts and bored piles, assessing their integrity and determining their load-carrying capacity. His impressive track record spans across significant infrastructure projects, both in India and abroad, showcasing his ability to tackle complex challenges on a large scale. He has undertaken pile drivability studies, jack-up rig foundation investigations and design including jackup rig moves. He was involved in the pile installation, monitoring of several offshore platforms, and has served QA/QC Engineer for several onshore and offshore Geotechnical Investigations , His sphere of activities has extended beyond from India to South East Asia , middle East, Africa and USA

Vidya Bhushan Maji

Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras

Dr. V. B. Maji Presently working as a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, joined the institute in 2008. He has received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore in the year 2007. Before that, he completed his Master of Technology degree (M.Tech) from the Department of Mining Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India (formerly Institute of Technology, IT-BHU) with Rock Mechanics specialization (year, 2003) and a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from BIT Sindri, Dhanbad, India (the year 2001). His research interest includes the Behavior of jointed rock mass, the Rock fracturing process, tunnelling and slope stability, and landslides. He has more than 15 years of research/teaching experience and has published more than 80 papers in various international/national journals and conferences. He has guided 6 Ph.D. and 3 MS students so far; 5 PhDs are in progress. Before joining IIT Madras, he worked as an associate consultant in Advanced Technologies and Engineering Services (ATES), a consultancy division of AIMIL Ltd. New Delhi.
