Calibration Services for PDA, PIT, TIP & Deep Foundation Testing Equipment

Calibration Services for PDI Deep Foundation Testing Equipment

Why Calibration is Essential for Reliable Testing

Accurate calibration plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability of deep foundation testing equipment. Over time, sensors and testing devices may drift from their original calibration due to regular field use, transportation, environmental conditions, or prolonged storage.

Regular calibration helps ensure that testing equipment continues to deliver accurate and repeatable measurements, supporting confident engineering decisions and compliance with project quality requirements.

Whether you use PDA, Pile Integrity Testing (PIT), Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL), TIP, or SPT Analyzer equipment, periodic calibration helps maintain testing accuracy and reduces the risk of incorrect interpretation of field results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does TAQELL calibrate PDI equipment?

Yes. TAQELL operates authorised PDI calibration facilities in Bengaluru, India, and Abu Dhabi, UAE, supporting customers across India and the Middle East. Calibration support is available for selected PDI instruments, sensors and accessories, including systems such as PIT, CHAMP-Q and PIR-Q, subject to the equipment model and calibration scope. Customers are requested to share the product name, model number, serial number, last calibration date and equipment condition so that the applicable calibration service, location and expected turnaround time can be confirmed.

What is the typical turnaround time for calibration?

The turnaround time depends on the instrument, number of sensors, equipment condition, availability of replacement parts and whether repair is required. After receiving and inspecting the equipment, TAQELL will confirm the expected completion schedule. Repair requirements, replacement parts, factory-level support and logistics may extend the timeline.

Can TAQELL calibrate equipment at the customer’s site?

Some checks, demonstrations or technical assessments may be possible at the customer’s premises. However, formal calibration may require the instrument or sensors to be sent to an authorised calibration facility. Share the equipment details and location so that TAQELL can confirm the appropriate option.

What information should I provide when requesting calibration?

Please provide the product name, model, serial number, sensor or accessory details, last calibration date, current equipment condition, details of any fault or irregular reading, country, return-delivery address and required completion date. Photographs of the equipment and accessories may also help us provide a quicker preliminary assessment.

Will I receive a calibration certificate?

Yes. A calibration certificate or relevant calibration documentation is provided for equipment calibrated within the approved scope.

How often should PDI sensors and equipment be recalibrated?

The recommended interval depends on the instrument and sensor type. As a general practice, recalibration is commonly required every two years or earlier if the equipment has been damaged, repaired, stored for a prolonged period or is producing questionable readings. Always follow the applicable PDI guidance and project specification.

Can TAQELL repair equipment during calibration?

Minor servicing or repair may be possible depending on the equipment and fault identified. If repair, replacement parts or manufacturer support is required, TAQELL will communicate the findings, additional cost and revised completion timeline before proceeding.

Note:

  • Only PDI-manufactured equipment & sensors can be calibrated.

  • Don't have facility to calibrate SPT embedded strain transducer.
